This is a review from a kid and his mom;I liked how Harvey was really evil, like Darth Paper evil. And also how all the girls, when they saw Harvey's Darth Paper Origami they said, 'oh, he's so tiny! Can you make me a pink one?' This book is pretty funny, but also, there is an adventure here because they have to try and save Dwight. Yoda said, 'make a new case file you must, the only way to save Dwight, that is.' Yoda is in this book in each chapter and he gives advice to people that is really cool.People should read this book, but they should read the first book, first, it is called The Strange Case of Origami Yoda. People should also read this because it is the second book in the series and it is kinda like a diary, only they call it a case file instead.The main thing that they have to do is they have to save Dwight from going to some school for really, really, really bad kids. Tommy, the main character, thinks he might get beat up there, which would be super awful.Mom's review;I kept walking past his room, smiling because I heard him giggling as he flipped the pages. There was no whining about playing a computer game or watching TV, he was pretty content to lounge in bed, reading. I don't think he's had this much fun reading a book since he read the Percy Jackson series. Definitely worth buying this in hardcover instead of borrowing it from the library, because he's read it about three times now. Some other books he's liked, just to add a little perspective, Gregor the Overlander, Holes, George's Marvelous Medicine, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Harry Potter, Captain Underpants, Bionicle books, The Wizard of Oz and Garfield comics.
This is a follow up to the Strange Case of Origami Yoda. Harvey, Dwight's nemesis, has taken his mistrust of Origami Yoda a step further, and made his own Darth Paper in an attempt to take Dwight and Origami Yoda down! I like how the kids at the middle school continue to stick up for Dwight, even though he's odd and some of his actions are hard to understand.Having been totally wowed by the first book, it takes something special to maintain that level of joy with a book. I still enjoyed this one, but not as much. I think that some people -- such as avid Star Wars fans -- will enjoy this one more, since the references are even heavier here.That said, this was an enjoyable read -- not quite as humorous or filled with heart as the first one -- but worth reading. I also know that I'd quickly pick up and recommend any other books by this author, whether in this series or not. He gets kids.
Great Book! Didn't expect it to be a Special Edition, which it is. It is different from the Original Origami Yoda Books - it has extra Origami Instructions in the back to show you how to draw your own Darth Vader. It is also the newest Edition -- 2015. Nice book for my Origami Yoda Collection -- I love it.
If you liked Origami Yoda book 1, then you’ll like this awesome sequel. I like this book for many reasons. When you finish this book, you may also want to read the 3rd book.
My 9 year old son loves this series. He struggled to read until we found these. Now he actually reads on his own and is moving to more advanced books. Thanks for helping my son learn to love reading.
Ok, you have to love and hate Harvey, but what would the series be without him. This book has been great for my 8 year old whose had a hard time with one of the boys in his class who "annoyed" him. With the help of Origami Yoda, he has learned to regard others whom have different manners or ideas with more respect and has been more accepting of his differences! Yeah, Origami Yoda, succeeding where I could not!
I adored Origami Yoda, and Darth Paper Strikes Back is the perfect sequel. Since I was more invested in the characters this time with things not going so well, the ride was intense. Flawless story-telling in the most creative of formats. Bravo! The great thing about this series is that it is fun for Star Wars fans, but a deep-seeded love of Star Wars is not at all necessary. Could not put this book down! I recommend it to boys and girls of all ages, parents, teachers, and librarians.
Nothing pleases a great grandmother more than knowing that she has given a gift that her great grandson really wants! And to find Darth Paper Strikes Back on Amazon gave me the greatest relief from having to go out to a bookstore and try and find this book. It is always a pleasure to shop Amazon in the comfort of my home. And the thought that you had exactly what I was looking for at a price I could afford made my heart sing!
